Summer Skin Damage Control
Did you neglect your complexion this summer? Is your skin feeling a little parched after all of those beach days? Fall is a great time to get back on good-skin track. Here are my top face care routine tips that’ll help you get your glow on again:

1. Come in for my signature facial.
You’ll get a deep cleanse, exfoliation, enzyme peel, steam, thorough extractions, microdermabrasion, oxygen therapy, and a customized mask. Essentially, it’s everything you need to say buh-bye to your dry, dull skin and hello to the complexion of your dreams.

2. Exfoliate twice a week.
And if you’ve got especially dry skin, or if you feel a little buildup on the surface of your face, you can even exfoliate three times a week. This is going to get rid of all those dead skin cells so the newer, fresher, younger-looking ones can emerge.

3. Do a peel & hydrating mask combo once a week.
If you want to help your skin get back in balance, do a peel once a week. I like Emergen-C Triple Threat Peel best because it’s not too strong to use on a weekly basis. Leave it on for 3 to 7 minutes, then put on a hydrating mask. My fave: Hypervitalizer by Emergen-C.

4. Skip the chemical peels and lasers right now.
I know that now’s the time you want to do something about those sun spots and freckles that popped up after all of that fun in the summer sun. But I highly recommend that you wait until we’re well into the fall to treat hyperpigmentation. The chemical peels or laser treatments that treat sun spots make your skin extra-sensitive to the sun – and as we all know, summer lasts well into October in LA. Unless you’re wearing a hat 24-7 and putting on sunscreen every hour, wait to do these treatments until November or December.

5. Keep slathering on the sunscreen.
Yes, I know I’m going to sound like your dermatologist here, but trust me: The sun is still seriously strong in LA through the fall, which means you need to be wearing sunscreen every day and reapplying it three or four times a day if you don’t want to have prematurely aging skin. I put on my SPF four times a day. It is absolutely the best way to keep your skin looking amazing.
